Skoda’s smallest electric vehicle (EV), initially showcased as the Elroq concept in 2023, has now been seen in its production form at the Nurburgring. The test mule pictures reveal several key features and design elements that hint at what to expect from this new EV.

Key Design Features

  • Front Design: The Elroq sports split headlamps, a faux grille, and vertical air curtains, maintaining a modern and aggressive look.
  • Side Profile: Pronounced wheel arches and a sharply raked windscreen contribute to its dynamic silhouette.
  • Rear Design: The rear features Skoda’s signature taillamps and logo positioning, making it unmistakably a Skoda vehicle.

Interior and Dimensions

According to spy sources, the interior of the Elroq is designed with a minimalistic approach, featuring dual digital screens. This aligns closely with the concept car showcased last year. Officially, Skoda has announced that the Elroq will measure 4.5 meters in length, making it longer than the Kushaq.

Platform and Performance

  • Platform: The Elroq is expected to ride on the MEB platform, sharing several components with its more expensive electric siblings like the Enyaq and the upcoming Superb EV.
  • Battery and Motor: It is likely to come equipped with a 62kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor producing around 177 bhp.

Future Implications

The Elroq is significant as it hints at future developments for Skoda’s Kushaq and Slavia models, and a potential India-specific EV that could arrive by 2027. This new EV will compete with several models in the Indian market, including:

  • Maruti eVX
  • Toyota Urban Sport
  • Honda Elevate EV
  • Hyundai Creta EV
  • Kia Carens EV
  • Models from Mahindra and Tata
