Shah Rukh Khan, now known as the “King of Bollywood,” has a rags-to-riches story that isn’t as well-known among his fans. Today, we see him living in a grand house, sporting expensive watches, and driving luxurious cars. But what about the days before his success? His co-star, Juhi Chawla, recently shared some insights into his early struggles.

No Home in Mumbai

Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together in multiple films, giving Juhi a front-row seat to SRK’s journey. She recalls a time when Shah Rukh didn’t have a home in Mumbai.

He used to live in Delhi and would travel to Mumbai for work. Though Juhi isn’t sure where Shah Rukh stayed during his Mumbai visits, she remembers him mingling closely with the film unit.

Juggling Multiple Shifts

In those early days, Shah Rukh survived on the unit’s food and tea, and he formed a strong bond with the crew, often engaging in playful banter.

He was so dedicated to his work that he sometimes took on two to three shifts in a single day. At one point, he was simultaneously working on “Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman,” “Dil Aashna Hai,” and a film with Divya Bharti.

The Black Gypsy Incident

Juhi also revealed that during this period, Shah Rukh owned a black Gypsy car. However, he couldn’t afford the EMI, and the car was repossessed. This incident left him quite disheartened.

Juhi comforted him by saying that one day he would own his house and have many cars. Her words have indeed come true, as Shah Rukh Khan’s journey from those struggling days to immense success is nothing short of inspirational.
