After West Indies set a formidable total of 178/8 in 20 overs, Yashasvi and Shubman Gill wasted no time in attacking the Windies bowlers. The opening duo put together a remarkable partnership of 165 runs, putting India in a dominant position. Yashasvi’s brilliant innings earned him the Man of the Match award, as he scored an explosive 84 not out off 51 balls, including 11 boundaries and 3 sixes. One of his most remarkable shots was an audacious reverse-sweep off Akeal Hosein, reminiscent of England’s batting icon Jos Buttler.
