Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority Updates
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced some exciting news. On the banks of the Yamuna Expressway, close to the Noida International Airport, 14 companies have begun production after setting up new factories. This development indicates a significant boost to the local economy.
Investments by Companies
Several companies have made substantial investments in this region. Notable investments include Vivo, which invested ₹7,000 crore, Surya Global with ₹953 crore, Denison at ₹231 crore, Bikanerwala contributing ₹160 crore, and Mounted Limited with ₹48 crore. These investments are expected to enhance the manufacturing landscape.
Job Opportunities for Local Farmers’ Children
Arun Veer Singh, the CEO of YEIDA, mentioned that with the ongoing manufacturing activities, they anticipate that at least 200 units will begin production soon. This will create numerous employment and business opportunities in the area. He emphasized that these companies will prioritize hiring children of local farmers, ensuring that local communities benefit from these developments.
Investment and Land Allocation
YEIDA has successfully attracted investments totaling ₹3.3 lakh crore. They have allocated 3,041 industrial plots and sold 1,880 acres of industrial land. Singh added that once all units are operational, the Yamuna Expressway area could see an estimated creation of 450,000 jobs. Currently, 1,553 plots have been registered, and possession has been granted to 980 allottees. Construction for 114 companies is also underway, with expectations for them to start operations within a year.
Recent Company Launches
In terms of recent activities, Vivo Mobile India Private Limited began producing mobile phones, hardware, and software on October 21, 2024. Bikanerwala Foods Private Limited started its operations on October 19, 2024, while Mounted Limited commenced manufacturing aluminum scaffolding, sheet fabrication, and plastic molding on September 17, 2024. In total, seven companies have begun operations between September 2024 and January 2025. Additionally, Patanjali is set to become the 15th company to start operations in April 2025.
