As winter has officially kicked off in North India, the chill in the air is unmistakable. With the drop in temperatures, many states have decided to announce winter holidays, providing students with a much-needed break from their academic routines. This time off not only allows students to recharge but also gives families the chance to come together and celebrate various festivals that the season brings.
School Holiday Announcements Across States
Several northern states have joined the winter holiday trend. In New Delhi, schools will be closed from January 1 to January 15, 2025, with an extra day off on December 25 for Christmas celebrations.
Similarly, the Haryana government has made the same announcement, allowing students to enjoy a holiday during the same period.
Meanwhile, Punjab is set to observe winter holidays from December 24 to December 31, 2024, with the possibility of extending the break depending on weather conditions, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
Winter Breaks in Other Regions
Other states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are also gearing up for winter vacations. Uttar Pradesh is expected to announce its winter break from December 25, 2024, to January 5, 2025, although we are still waiting for official confirmation.
Rajasthan is planning a similar schedule, while Bihar is looking at a shorter holiday from December 25 to December 31, 2024. These breaks offer students a chance to enjoy the festive spirit and relax during the cold winter months.
