Passengers can now purchase tickets by sending a “Hi” to the number 9650855800 through WhatsApp or by scanning the QR code installed at the metro station. However, it is important to note that tickets cannot be canceled after booking. Anuj Dayal, the Metro spokesperson, stated that the introduction of the WhatsApp based ticketing system will provide passengers with the convenience of purchasing tickets from the comfort of their homes or workplaces with just one click. The QR code based ticketing facility is already available, and passengers can also purchase tickets through various digital means including the mobile app, smart card, UPI, and credit-debit cards.

You Will Be Able to Purchase Tickets Like This:

  • Add DMRC official WhatsApp number 9650855800 to your phone’s contact list.
  • If the number is not available, scan the chatbot QR code displayed at the stations.
  • After adding the number or scanning the QR code, send “Hi” on WhatsApp.
  • Select your preferred language, then choose the origin and destination stations for your journey.
  • Select the number of tickets you wish to purchase (up to six tickets).
  • Pay the fare using a debit card or UPI.
  • Receive the QR code ticket in the WhatsApp chat and scan it at the AFC gate to travel.

This new ticketing system aims to enhance the convenience and ease of travel for passengers using the Delhi Metro. By leveraging the popularity and accessibility of WhatsApp, DMRC is streamlining the ticketing process and reducing the need for physical ticket purchases. With the ability to purchase tickets through various digital channels, passengers have more flexibility and options when it comes to commuting via the metro.
