Weather Update: Unusual Climate Patterns And Rain Forecasts Across India Amidst Warm January Days.

Weather Update

There’s a unique weather situation this January across the country. In North India, people are feeling the heat during the day, which is unusual for this time of year. Meteorologists are quite surprised by this phenomenon.

This winter season, four western disturbances are active, but they haven’t brought much rain so far. The Meteorological Department expects these disturbances to bring heavy rains to various states by February 5.

Additionally, some states may experience dense fog. In Delhi-NCR, both rain and fog are likely. Himachal Pradesh could see rain or snowfall, while Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive snowfall and Tamil Nadu might experience heavy rains. The lack of rain this season has left farmers disappointed, especially since winter rains are crucial for crops like wheat, mustard, and lentils.

Rainfall and Fog Alerts

According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation is forming in Northeast India. There’s also a western disturbance affecting western Afghanistan. Two new disturbances are expected to impact northwest India between February 1 and 4.

Dense fog may occur in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya. In Chandigarh, light rain is possible over the next three days, along with strong winds. Himachal Pradesh may see increased activity on January 31 and February 1.

Light rain and snowfall are expected in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. By February 4, there may be rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Additionally, rain is anticipated in Punjab, Haryana, western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Arunachal Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, and rain is also likely in Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala. Sporadic rains may occur in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Lakshadweep.

Delhi-NCR’s Summer Weather in Winter

In Delhi-NCR, the weather will feel summery in the first week of February. Mornings and evenings will be chilly, while daytime temperatures will feel warmer due to the sun. Light rainfall is expected on February 3 and 4, which may lower the temperature. Recently, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5 degrees and a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees.
