Weather Changes After Diwali

After Diwali, we’ve noticed a noticeable drop in temperatures across the country. Winter is expected to be particularly harsh in North India, including Delhi, with predictions pointing towards severe cold spells this season. Adding to this, a cyclonic storm is on the way, which will bring heavy clouds and could even lead to hailstorms in several states. So, it’s time to bundle up and prepare for the colder days ahead!

Upcoming Rain and Thunderstorms

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a cyclonic circulation is currently over the central parts of the South Bay of Bengal. This is likely to cause heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala from November 7 to 12. Furthermore, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will see cloudy weather on Thursday, with a chance of hailstorms in parts of Manipur. These weather changes are typical when a western disturbance occurs, creating cyclonic circulations.

Current Temperature Trends in Delhi

Focusing on Delhi NCR, there has been a slight dip in minimum temperatures in the past day. The temperature range in Delhi is currently between 30-33 degrees for the maximum and 14-18 degrees for the minimum. While some areas are experiencing temperatures 1-2 degrees above normal for the maximum and 2-3 degrees for the minimum, a hint of cold can be felt during the mornings and nights. Expect some fog in the early hours and late evenings on Thursday, but the daytime should be clear and sunny.
