Volkswagen and Skoda to Launch New SUVs in India by 2025

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd is gearing up to introduce three new SUVs in the Indian market by 2025. Among these, the Volkswagen Tayron and Skoda Kodiaq will be 7-seater models, while the VW Tera, based on the recently unveiled Skoda Kylaq, is set to launch in the second half of 2024.

Upcoming Models

The Volkswagen Tera, a sub 4-metre SUV, will feature a distinct design while sharing components with the Skoda Kylaq. It is expected to offer premium features like connected car technology and a 1.0L TSI engine producing 115 bhp. Meanwhile, the Skoda Kodiaq will return to India with a 2.0L TSI petrol engine and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, showcasing impressive safety ratings.

Volkswagen Tayron Details

Set to debut in March 2025, the Volkswagen Tayron will replace the Tiguan in India. It boasts advanced features such as ventilated seats and a large touchscreen infotainment system. While various powertrains are available globally, the Indian version will focus on a petrol engine with automatic transmission.
