Weather Update for Uttar Pradesh
The western part of Uttar Pradesh is set for a change in weather starting Wednesday. A new western disturbance has become active in the region since January 29, leading to expectations of light drizzle in some districts.
Fog Alerts Issued
On Tuesday, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for highly dense fog in 17 districts of the state. Additionally, there is a thick fog warning in another 15 districts, making travel and daily activities challenging for residents.
Temperature Trends
While the daytime temperatures have been comfortable due to the sunshine, nights remain cold with wind speeds reaching 25 to 30 km per hour. The eastern Terai regions have been experiencing persistent dense fog over the past few days.
Coldest and Hottest Locations
On Sunday, Ayodhya recorded the lowest temperature at 5.5 degrees Celsius, while Varanasi was the warmest at 26.6 degrees Celsius.
Districts Under Fog Alerts
The following districts are under an orange alert for highly dense fog: Gorakhpur, Santakbirnagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, and Pilibhit.
Additional Fog Warnings
There is also a possibility of thick fog in the following areas: Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Amroha, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, and surrounding regions.
