DelhiDesk Uttar Pradesh Roadways is preparing to launch electronic buses in the state, with plans to run 100 electric buses on selected routes in Ghaziabad and Lucknow under the pilot project, according to Minister of State for Transport Dayashankar Singh. The buses will initially have a 3×2 seating arrangement, with fares of INR1.63 ($0.02) per kilometre. The move is in line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s emphasis on operating electric vehicles for the convenience of citizens and the protection of the environment.
