The Government of India runs various schemes aimed at improving the lives of its citizens. Among these, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana focuses on helping people realize their dream of owning a home, especially for those who may not have enough financial resources. Good news has emerged for residents of Uttar Pradesh, as the Paddy Minister Housing Scheme Urban 2.0 is set to offer affordable housing options.

Under this initiative, families from low-income and middle-income backgrounds will have the opportunity to purchase homes at significantly reduced prices in urban areas. Additionally, the scheme includes financial assistance for senior citizens and women who are widowed or abandoned. Senior citizens will receive ₹30,000, while eligible women will get ₹20,000. Furthermore, beneficiaries who complete their home construction within 12 months will receive an extra ₹10,000 as an incentive.

Government Financial Assistance Structure

The financial aid under this scheme is structured as a 40:40:20 ratio. This means that for beneficiaries purchasing houses through private projects, they will receive assistance from the central government in the form of redeemable housing vouchers.

Support for EWS Families

For families in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), the scheme offers further benefits. Eligible families can receive ₹1.5 lakh from the central government to build new homes on plots ranging from 30 to 45 square meters. The state government will contribute an additional ₹1 lakh, while beneficiaries will need to cover any extra costs incurred during the construction process.
