Anjali’s father, Amit Sahu, spoke to reporters about the heartbreaking incident. He stated that his daughter was a class 11 student at Badri Singh Kanya Inter College in Kabrai. While she was an average student academically, the teacher had discovered several sachets of gutka in her school bag during a search.

The local police are currently investigating the incident. Birendra Pratap, the SHO of Kabrai, mentioned that the family has not provided any specific reason that may have led Anjali to take such a drastic step. He added that the teacher and other students present during the scolding will be interrogated as part of the investigation.
