Two Shooters Arrested in Delhi BJP Leader’s Murder Case
In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two shooters, including a minor, in connection with the murder of BJP leader Surender Matiala. The arrests were made after an encounter, during which an inspector and an ASI narrowly escaped. The minor had entered the BJP leader’s office and shot him at close range. The accused were captured in CCTV footage.
The accused are reportedly related to Lawrence Bishroi-Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, Sampat Nehra-Rohit Godara gang. Gangster Rohit had given the contract to the minor to kill the BJP leader.
Special Commissioner of Police Ravinder Singh Yadav said that Inspector Rampal received information that two anti-punks of the Lawrence Bishroi-Sampat Nehra, Kapil Nandu-Rohit Godara gang were planning to kill an anti-gang member in Safdarjung, South Delhi. They were going to meet colleagues in the Enclave area. One of these shooters is involved in the murder of Surender Solanki Matiala.
Under the supervision of ACP Umesh Barthwal, the team of Inspector Rampal, SI Hemant Kumar, SI Mukesh, and ASI Narendra laid siege near RK Stadium. The accused reached the spot by bike at 2 am. When Inspector Rampal stopped them, the accused opened fire. One bullet each hit Inspector Rampal and ASI Narendra, but both survived as they were wearing bulletproof jackets.
The arrests have brought the case closer to a conclusion. The police are expected to make further arrests as they continue their investigation.
