Indian Railways has introduced a new facility for passengers traveling with RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) tickets. Under this new scheme, RAC ticket holders in AC coaches will now be provided with a complete bedroll kit. Previously, RAC passengers were only provided partial amenities, but now the entire kit will be offered for a more comfortable journey.
What is an RAC Ticket?
An RAC ticket means the passenger’s seat is not fully confirmed, and they are required to share a seat with another passenger. In case of a cancellation, the RAC passenger may get a full seat. Otherwise, the passenger is allotted half a seat, which is shared during the journey.
Railway’s Recent Announcement
Indian Railways recently announced that RAC passengers in AC coaches will receive a complete bedroll kit, which includes all the necessary items for comfort. Earlier, only half the kit was provided, but now passengers will get the full set.
