MP Weather Alert: Heavy Rains Expected in Several Districts

Monsoon has gained momentum in Madhya Pradesh, leading to heavy rains in the past 24 hours. Today, Wednesday, there is a rain alert in 16 districts, with more rain activity expected. The Meteorological Department has reported a low pressure area over North East Rajasthan, moving eastwards through North Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, the active trough line has resulted in renewed rainfall.

Rain Alert in These Districts Today

According to the MP Meteorological Department, extremely heavy rains are expected in Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, and Shajapur. Heavy rain warnings have been issued in Bhopal, Vidisha, Betul, Harda, Indore, Agar-Malwa, Guna, Ashoknagar, Umaria, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Damoh, Sagar, and Chhatarpur. Light to moderate rain is expected in several other districts.

Condition of 4 Big Cities

Heavy rains are expected in Bhopal, Indore, and Jabalpur, with a heavy rain alert issued in Bhopal today. Jabalpur division may also experience heavy rains. Some districts in Gwalior division are expected to have heavy rains, while the rest may experience moderate rainfall. Ujjain is also likely to receive heavy rainfall. Vidisha, Betul, Guna, Chhindwara, and Seoni districts may experience heavy rainfall as well.

Cyclonic Circulation Effect

A low pressure area has formed over North West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan, resulting in an upper air cyclone at a height of 4.5 km. The axis of Monsoon trough passes through Na and Satna, with a cyclonic circulation over Northeast Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh. Another cyclonic circulation is present in the Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu, and a Western Disturbance is passing through the Himalayas. These weather patterns will result in moist south-west wind blowing in the Malwa region, including Indore, causing good rain with thunder and lightning. Gwalior-Chambal division will experience light to moderate rain at many places, while Sheopur and Shivpuri districts may have heavy rainfall.
