Honda launches its compact SUV, Elevate, to compete with Nexon, Grand Vitara, Creta, and Seltos
Honda has launched its new compact SUV, Elevate, to compete in the growing demand for compact SUVs. With bookings starting in July, the car will hit the markets around Diwali. Elevate will pose a challenge to cars like Nexon, Grand Vitara, Creta, and Seltos. The new car boasts of several features, including an emergency braking system with ADAS. Elevate is the first compact SUV to have this feature. The car comes with a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 121 bhp power and 150 Nm torque. It has a manual transmission and CVT gearbox option.
Features of the car include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch instrument cluster with a color HD TFT screen, and wireless smart integration. Elevate also has six airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane watch, hill hold assist, and lane keep assist, among other safety features. The company has not disclosed the price range of the car, but it is expected to launch at around 8 lakh rupees, with the top variant priced at 15 lakh rupees.
The car has a muscular look, with a sleek grill and a sleek tail lamp unit. It has a ground clearance of 220mm. Elevate is built on the Honda platform and may offer a hybrid option. The company has already introduced a hybrid engine in Honda City. Elevate is likely to get an electric version within the next three years.
