Location and Development 🌍

The new plant is situated in the Industrial Township IMT Kharkhauda, developed by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). This project aligns with the government’s effort to attract global investment and create jobs in the region.

Start of Production 🏭

Production at this plant is set to begin in 2027, which will significantly enhance SMIPL’s production capabilities in India. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to provide employment to about 2,000 people.

Company’s Vision 🌱

Kenichi Umda, the managing director of SMIPL, emphasized that the foundation of this second manufacturing plant not only helps the brand grow but also shows their commitment to the people and communities of India. By establishing this plant in IMT Kharkhauda, SMIPL aims to contribute to regional development, generate jobs, and support the government’s industrial goals.

Modern and Sustainable Facility 🌳

The facility will cover 100 acres, with the manufacturing unit initially spread over 25 acres. An additional 25 acres will be dedicated to green spaces, highlighting the company’s focus on sustainable development. The new plant will also feature modern automation and energy-efficient systems, aligning with Suzuki’s global goals for carbon neutrality.

SMIPL’s Journey in India 🚴‍♂️

SMIPL started its operations in India in February 2006 with a manufacturing plant in Kherki Daula, Gurugram. Currently, it produces scooters (125 cc) and premium motorcycles (150 cc and above). This new facility is part of SMIPL’s strategy to meet the growing demand in the Indian market while supporting local development and job creation.
