Maruti Suzuki Leads the Price Hike 📈

The first company to announce this increase was Maruti Suzuki. Following them, Kia, Hyundai, and Honda Cars India also shared similar news. Now, Renault India, the French car manufacturer, has joined the list. They will raise prices on all their models by 2 percent starting in April.

Why Are Prices Going Up? 🤔

Renault’s CEO, Venkataram Mamilpalla, explained that the price hike is due to rising production costs. He mentioned that the company kept prices stable for a long time, but it has become necessary to increase them to maintain quality and introduce new products. The last price increase by Renault was in February 2023.

Impact on Popular Models 🚙

This price rise will affect popular Renault models like the Triber, Kiger, and Kwid. For instance, the starting price of the Renault Triber is now Rs 6.09 lakh (ex-showroom) and it comes with a CNG option. Similarly, the Renault Kiger SUV also starts at Rs 6.09 lakh and offers a Turbo Petrol Engine option. The Renault Kwid starts at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom).

Other Companies Following Suit ⚙️

Renault isn’t the only company increasing prices. Kia, Honda, Tata Motors, and Maruti Suzuki have all announced similar hikes due to rising input costs. The auto industry is facing challenges with raw materials and logistics, which has led to increased production costs.
