Tata’s Punch EV has already proven to be one of the most affordable electric SUVs in India, and now the home‑grown brand has made it even more appealing with a mid‑year update. The compact EV remains charmingly boxy and agile, but it now wears a fresh coat of paint and charges faster than ever.
The updated Punch EV is available in two new colours – Pure Grey and Supernova Copper – which join the existing palette to give buyers more choices. These shades, one understated and the other bold, complement the SUV’s sharp LED lighting, contrast roof and rugged cladding. Cosmetic tweaks aside, the big news is a new 1.2C fast‑charging capability. Tata says the 25 kWh and 35 kWh battery packs can now charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just forty minutes when plugged into a DC fast charger, cutting down waiting times significantly. Depending on the battery you choose, the Punch EV offers a real‑world range of roughly 315–421 km, which covers daily commuting and weekend getaways with ease.
Step inside and you’ll find the cabin largely unchanged. There are still twin 10.25‑inch digital displays, wireless phone charging and a connected car suite with over‑the‑air updates. The Punch EV retains features like multi‑mode regenerative braking, cruise control and six airbags. Prices remain close to the earlier launch, meaning you get more for the same money.
