In a significant move, ICICI Bank, a leader in the private sector banking in India, has announced the integration of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) transactions with its RuPay credit cards. This service, effective from December 1, 2023, marks a new era of convenience and flexibility for ICICI Bank customers.
Expanding Digital Payment Horizons
Customers can now link their ICICI RuPay credit cards to any UPI app, including popular ones like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm, facilitating seamless UPI payments. This integration is set to revolutionize the way transactions are conducted, offering a blend of credit card benefits with the ease of UPI.
Transaction Limitations: Person to Merchant Only
As per ICICI Bank’s guidelines, RuPay credit cardholders can only perform person-to-merchant transactions. This means the card can be used exclusively for purchases and not for transferring money to individuals.
