Hero Motors Limited (HML) has announced a new partnership with German company Schmide Technic Patentberg (STP). This joint venture aims to manufacture forged powertrain equipment right here in India. The production facility will be located at Hero Industrial Park in Lugiana, and it’s expected to start operations by mid-2026. π

Hero Industrial Park is not just about this new venture. It also hosts other automotive and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing units like HMC HIVE, HYM, and Spur Technologies. This shows that India is becoming a strong player in advanced manufacturing.

Pankaj M Munjal, Chairman of HMC Group, expressed confidence in this partnership. He stated that combining STP’s expertise with HML’s research and development capabilities will help them gain a significant share in the global powertrain equipment market.

STP is a well-known German forging company with six manufacturing plants in Germany. They produce high-quality devices for automotive and industrial uses. On the other hand, HML focuses on high engineering solutions and operates in the alloy and metallics sector. Their research and development facilities are located in India, the UK, and Thailand.

HMC Group’s business spans various sectors, including automotive equipment, e-mobility, bicycles, real estate, and premium retail.
