Supreme Court to Hear Petition Challenging Order on Azam Khan’s Voice Samples

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a petition challenging the trial court’s order ordering SP leader Azam Khan to give voice samples in the hate speech case. Today, on behalf of Azam Khan, advocate Kapil Sibal made a mention before the bench headed by Justice AS Bopanna and demanded an early hearing on it. After that, the court ordered the hearing tomorrow i.e. on 23 August.

Advocate Kapil Sibal’s Plea

Advocate Kapil Sibal said that the MP-MLA court of Rampur was told that a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court in this matter, yet the court did not adjourn the hearing of the case. Then the court said that the matter will be heard on 25 August. Then Sibal said that the hearing is going to be held in the MP-MLA court of Rampur tomorrow i.e. on 23 August, then the Supreme Court has ordered the hearing on 23 August itself.

Azam Khan’s Hate Speech Case

Let us tell you that the MP-MLA court of Rampur had ordered to take samples of Azam Khan’s voice to test the veracity of Azam Khan’s speech presented in the CD in a hate speech case. Azam Khan is accused of giving inflammatory speech against a particular community in 2007.
