Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has confirmed that toll plazas on NH will soon be replaced with a new satellite-based toll collection system.

System Details

Nitin Gadkari has announced that toll barriers will be replaced with a satellite-based toll collection system that uses GPS and cameras to deduct fees from vehicles. The new system will calculate toll fees based on the distance traveled by each vehicle.

A pilot run of the GPS-based toll collection system is currently underway to test its effectiveness. Once implemented, the system will deduct toll fees directly from the bank accounts of vehicle owners, eliminating the need for toll booths.

With the new toll collection system, vehicles will no longer have to stop at toll plazas, leading to a smoother and more efficient traffic flow on NH. This innovative approach is expected to revolutionize the way tolls are collected in the country.
