Indian Share Market Closes with a Fall of 311 Points in Sensex and 18,700 Points in Nifty

The Indian share market closed on Thursday, June 15 with a fall in both Sensex and Nifty. The Sensex lost 311 points and went below the 63,000 mark, while the Nifty closed below 18,700 points. This resulted in a loss of around INR 17,000 crore for the investors in the stock market. The banking, realty, telecom, and IT sectors witnessed the maximum fall, while the pharma and FMCG sectors remained strong. However, the broader market remained in the green, with the BSE midcap and smallcap indices closing up by 0.30% and 0.12%, respectively.

Market Capitalization of Listed Companies in BSE Falls by INR 17,000 Crore

The total market capitalization of listed companies in BSE fell to INR 290.72 lakh crore on June 15, down from INR 290.89 lakh crore on June 14. This resulted in a loss of nearly INR 17,000 crore for the investors. The market capitalization of BSE-listed companies has fallen by around INR 17,000 crore in just one day.

Top Gainers in Sensex include Nestle India, M&M, ITC, HCL Tech, and Asian Paints

Out of the 30 companies in Sensex, 13 companies closed with gains on June 15. Nestle India’s shares witnessed the maximum gain of 1.12%, followed by M&M, ITC, HCL Tech, and Asian Paints. These companies closed with gains of 0.64% to 1.01%.

Top Losers in Sensex include Wipro, IndusInd Bank, SBI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Bank

Out of the remaining 17 companies in Sensex, Wipro’s shares witnessed the maximum fall of 1.93%, followed by IndusInd Bank, SBI, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ICICI Bank. These companies closed with losses of 1.30% to 1.81%.

Market Sees a Total of 3,664 Shares Traded, out of Which 1,777 Closed with Losses

Out of the total 3,664 shares traded on BSE, 1,748 closed with gains, while 1,777 closed with losses. The remaining 139 shares closed without any change in price.
