Full Dress Rehearsal of Republic Day 2024 Begins Today

The full dress rehearsal of Republic Day 2024 will start today, January 23, at 10:30 am. The parade will begin from Vijay Chowk and proceed towards the Red Fort through various routes including Duty Path, C-Hexagon, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue Square, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg.

Delhi Police Advises Commuters to Avoid Parade Routes

Delhi Police has advised commuters to avoid the routes marked for the rehearsal from 09:30 am to 1 pm. Traffic will not be allowed on Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road from 11 pm on Monday night. Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly.

Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

Traffic on the duty road from Vijay Chowk to India Gate is closed for the general public from 6 pm on January 22 until the end of the parade.

Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road will be closed for traffic from 11 pm on January 22 until the end of the parade.

The ‘C’ Hexagon-India Gate will remain closed from 09:15 am today, January 23, until the parade crosses Tilak Marg.

Traffic will not be allowed in both directions on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg, and Subhash Marg from 10:30 am today. Traffic will only be permitted to turn based on the movement of the parade.

Alternative Routes to Reach the Railway Station

For those traveling from South Delhi to the railway station, it is recommended to use the route Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Sarai Kale Khan-Ring Road Rajghat-Ring Road-Chowk Yamuna Bazaar. This route will lead to SP Mukherjee Marg-Chhatta Rail-Kauria Bridge and Old Delhi Railway Station.

Smooth Passage from North Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station

Traveling from North Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station will not pose any difficulties as this route will remain open. Delhi Police advises people to plan their journeys in advance and leave early to avoid potential delays.
