On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, ten students from government schools in Punjab travelled to New Delhi to celebrate the festival at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The girls had the honour of meeting President Droupadi Murmu and participating in the festivities at the presidential residence. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains congratulated the students and their teachers on this special opportunity.

During their visit, the girls—Usha Rani, Mahakdeep Kaur, Pinky Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur, Bimandeep Kaur, Preetjot Kaur, Baljinder Kaur, Veerpal Kaur, Sunita Kaur and Sahajdeep Kaur—were able to converse with the President and experience India’s rich cultural heritage first‑hand. Students from across the country also took part in the event, making it a beautiful showcase of cultural diversity and unity.

Earlier this summer, forty students from Punjab’s School of Eminence travelled to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota to witness the launch of the Chandrayaan‑3 mission. Their trip, which was fully funded by the state government, underscores a growing emphasis on giving young students unique educational experiences.
