When this scheme matures. Then the principal amount is also returned. On March 31, the rate of interest for small savings scheme has been revised by the Ministry of Finance. Earlier 7.1 percent interest was being received on this scheme. But now 7.4 percent annual interest is being offered on this scheme.

 

No change in interest rate for the next five years

This scheme itself is a very special thing. When you invest in this scheme then the interest rate will be. This interest rate will be applicable to you for the coming 5 years. If we talk about the interest rate, then it is revised every quarter. If there is any change in the interest rates of this scheme, then it will not affect the investor.

1.85 lakh in 5 years only from interest

As per the Post Office Monthly Income Scheme Calculator, if an investor. One who invests Rs 5 lakh in this scheme, then he will get an amount of Rs 3083 every month as interest. This is the amount. This amount is available every month for the next 5 years. who is the account holder. Those account holders will get a total of Rs 184980 only from interest. When the five years are completed, then the person gets back the amount of Rs.5 lakh.

These changes will happen in Post Office schemes from April 1, there will be double benefit.

Another change has been made in the Budget 2023 in the Post Office Monthly Income Scheme Account and it has been included in the Finance Bill 2023 and has also been approved. If we talk about this rule, then this rule has come into force from 1st April. Earlier the investment limit in this scheme was Rs 4.5 lakh. But now an individual can invest up to Rs 9 lakh in this scheme. Same, earlier the investment limit of joint account holder was Rs 9 lakh. Which has now been increased and this limit has been increased to Rs 15 lakh.
