Government’s Focus on Youth Development

The objective of the newly launched autonomous body, My Youth India, is to inspire the youth to become agents of change in their communities and active participants in the nation’s development. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between the government and the citizens through the involvement of youth. The closing ceremony of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign will provide a platform for more than 20,000 Amrit Kalash Yatris from 36 states and union territories to come together and contribute to the nation-building process.

The two-day program will be held at Vijay Chowk and Dutva Path in Delhi. On October 30, representatives from all states will pour soil from their kalash into a huge ‘Amrit Kalash’ to symbolize unity and the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. The ceremony will showcase popular art forms from each state. The program will continue till late evening. On October 31, there will be a public event with live cultural performances, followed by Prime Minister Modi’s address to the Amrit Kalash pilgrims and the nation. The Prime Minister will also pay tribute to the brave men who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom and prosperity.

Achievements of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ Campaign

The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign has seen significant success in its first phase. Over 2.33 lakh Shilaphalakams were created, nearly four crore Panch Pran Pratigya selfies were uploaded, and more than two lakh ‘Vandan to the Brave’ programs were organized across the country. Additionally, more than 2.36 crore indigenous saplings were planted, and 2.63 lakh Amrit Vatikas were created under the theme of Vasudha Vandan. In the second phase, the campaign aimed to take Amrit Kalash Yatras to every house in the country, collecting soil and rice grains from over six lakh villages and wards across India.

The closing ceremony of the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ is expected to be a significant event, bringing together thousands of youth representatives from all over the country to celebrate India’s independence and contribute to its future development.
