Dispute over parking leads to violent clash in Delhi

Two families clashed in the Welcome area of north-east Delhi on Sunday night over a dispute regarding the parking of a car in front of their house. Shortly after, a crowd gathered from both sides and a violent clash broke out. The altercation resulted in lathi-sticking and stone pelting, leaving five people injured, including a woman. The victims were rushed to the nearby Jag Pravesh Chand Hospital, where one of them, Gulshan, is currently undergoing treatment for a broken jaw.

Police register cross case and start investigation

On the complaint of both families, the police registered a cross case and started investigating the matter. Late Sunday night, the Welcome police station received information about the clash between the two families at Photo Chowk. By the time the police arrived at the scene, the ruckus had stopped and the injured had already been taken to the hospital. The police team reached the hospital, where they learned that five people had sustained serious injuries, while three others had minor injuries.

Victims suffer head injuries

The victim, Parvez, told the police that a youth named Javed was parking his car outside his house and when he refused, the accused started quarreling with him. The altercation between the two resulted in a crowd gathering, and later, stone pelting. Parvez, his son Danish, Javed, and Shan Mohammad suffered head injuries in the attack. On Parvez’s statement, the police have registered a case under the sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, assault, and breaking teeth. On the other hand, on Javed’s statement, the police have registered a case of assault and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of the people.
