New Delhi to host P20 Summit on 13 October
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has announced that the two-day P20 (G20 Parliamentary Speakers Summit) will take place in New Delhi. The summit will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 13 October. Birla revealed that a total of 50 Members of Parliament and 14 General Secretaries, including 26 Speakers, 10 Deputy Speakers, one Committee Chairman, and the IPU President, have confirmed their participation in the conference. Notably, the President of the Pan African Parliament will be attending the P20 event in India for the first time. India has dedicated its G20 presidency to the people.
The P20 Summit will feature four high-level sessions, including a conference on “Transforming people’s lives through public digital platforms.” This session will facilitate a comprehensive discussion on how parliaments can effectively advance the objectives of P20.
