Ola Electric has launched a new variant of the S1X electric scooter in India with a larger battery pack. The new variant will have a 4kWh battery and claims to offer a range of 190km on a full charge. The ex-showroom price of the e-scooter is Rs 1.10 lakh.

The S1X was initially launched in August 2023 with 2kWh and 3kWh battery pack options. The company has started taking bookings and deliveries will begin in April. Additionally, Ola has announced an increase in service centers, charging network, and battery warranty across the country.

Ola is offering an 8-year/80,000 km standard warranty on the battery of its electric scooter. Customers can extend the battery warranty up to 1,00,000 kilometers by paying Rs 4,999 and up to 1,25,000 kilometers by paying Rs 12,999.

Ola S1X: Performance

 

The 4kWh variant of the S1X is equipped with a 6kW hub-mounted electric motor, generating 8bhp power. It can accelerate from 0-40kmph in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 90kmph. The scooter features telescopic forks at the front, twin shock absorbers at the rear, and offers 3 riding modes ★Eco, Normal, and Sports.

Ola S1X: Design and Features

 

The design of the S1X scooter is similar to Ola’s existing electric scooters. It features smiley-shaped dual-pod headlights, indicator-mounted front apron, flat footboard with a rubberized mat, 34 liters of boot space, and LED tail lamps. The scooter also comes with a 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster, flat type seat, LED tail lamp, and a single-piece tubular grab rail. It is equipped with black cladding and steel wheels.

Company to Increase Service and Charging Network

 

Ola Electric plans to increase its service centers in India by 50% and expand the number of Ola service center networks to 600 by April 2024. The company also aims to expand its charging network by 10 times. Currently, there are 1000 charging stations, which will be increased to 10,000 by June. Ola will install fast chargers that can charge 75% faster than home chargers and provide a range of up to 50km in about 20 minutes of charge. Customers can also purchase a fast charger for Rs 29,999 and have it installed at their home or office.
