Delhi Launches 400 New Electric Buses. 🚍⚡
Today marks a big change in Delhi’s public transport. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has officially launched a new scheme, bringing 400 electric buses to the city. This program is called the Devi scheme, which stands for Delhi Electric Vehicle Interescar.
Small Buses for Narrow Streets 🏙️
These new buses are smaller in size, making it easier for them to navigate through the busy streets of Delhi. Previously, the larger buses couldn’t reach many local areas, but now, the electric buses will connect more neighborhoods. The first buses were sent off from the DTC bus depot at Kukh Seva Nagar, with important figures like Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Transport Minister Pankaj Singh in attendance.
Last Mile Connectivity 🚏
The Devi scheme aims to provide last-mile connectivity. Each bus is about 9 meters long and can carry 23 passengers seated and 13 to 15 standing. There are special spaces for wheelchairs, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
Women’s Safety and Comfort 👩🦰❤️
Women will have 6 reserved seats in every bus and can use a special pink ticket, while general fares range from ₹10 to ₹30. The buses are equipped with modern technology, such as CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and automatic gates for safety.
Quick Charging and Long Range 🔋
These electric buses can be fully charged in just 30 minutes and can travel up to 150 kilometers on a single charge. They will operate from depots in Ghazipur, Nagloi, and East Vinod Nagar.
Join the green revolution in Delhi with these new electric buses. 🌱✨
