Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a significant initiative to provide free solar systems to 1 lakh poor households in the state. This move aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of installing solar rooftop systems in every Indian household.
To support this initiative, the state government will provide an additional subsidy of Rs. 50,000 per household, in addition to the Rs. 60,000 provided by the central government. This will enable families to harness the benefits of solar energy without any financial burden.
In another consumer-friendly move, the Haryana government has abolished the monthly minimum electricity charge for domestic consumers. This means that households will only pay for the electricity they consume, providing relief to over 9.5 lakh poor families in the state.
Furthermore, the government has empowered panchayats with new authorities to accelerate rural development. Sarpanches can now undertake development projects costing up to Rs. 21 lakh without the need for tenders.
Chief Minister Khattar emphasized the government’s commitment to driving Haryana’s development through innovative thinking, a clear vision, and unwavering effort. The aim is to ensure the well-being of all sections of society and propel the state to new heights of progress.
