DelhiDesk: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inspected the country’s first elevated highway, Dwarka Expressway, in Gurugram. The expressway is being constructed at a cost of Rs 9,000 crore and is 29 km long, connecting Haryana and South Delhi. The construction work in both zones of the Haryana region has been completed to the extent of 93.2% and 99.25%, and it is expected to become operational by July. The work in the Delhi region is expected to be completed in 2024. The project uses state-of-the-art technologies such as ITS, Advance Traffic Management System, Toll Management System, CCTV cameras, and surveillance for ease of traffic and passenger safety. The project has set records with the use of two lakh MT steel, 20 lakh cum of concrete, and the transplantation of 12,000 trees.
