Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, recently made a significant appeal to two-wheeler manufacturers, urging them to provide helmets at a discounted or affordable rate to buyers of two-wheelers. This request is aimed at reducing fatalities in road accidents, as a large number of people lose their lives due to not wearing helmets.
Road Accident Data for 2022:

Gadkari’s Appeal to Two-Wheeler Manufacturers:

He stated, “I am considering requesting two-wheeler manufacturers to offer a discount or provide helmets at an affordable rate to those purchasing vehicles. This could help save lives.”
Focus on Traffic Safety:
Additionally, Gadkari highlighted the need for proper parking arrangements for school buses and the importance of implementing traffic laws effectively. While the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019 has introduced strict fines for traffic violations, Gadkari acknowledged the challenge of enforcing these rules on the ground.
