However, schools in Lucknow will reopen on January 8, 2024. Additionally, changes have been made in schools for classes 9 to 12, with schools now operating from 10 AM to 3 PM.

- Uttar Pradesh has been experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting over the past 24 hours, causing discomfort and inconvenience to the residents.
Additional School Closures in Noida:
Gautam Buddha Nagar has also declared holidays for all schools up to the 8th grade until January 6, 2024, due to the extreme cold. The decision to close schools was made on the orders of the District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma. Meanwhile, council-run schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar had already announced winter vacations until January 14, 2024. These schools will reopen for regular classes from January 15, 2024.
School Shutdown in Shamli:
Shamli district has also been affected by the cold weather, leading the District Magistrate to declare holidays for all schools up to the 12th grade from January 2 to January 4, 2024. Basic Education Officer J.S. Shakya stated that any school found violating these orders would face consequences, as the decision was made with the students’ welfare in mind.
