The Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor is set to introduce feeder services at all 25 stations of the Namo Bharat Train. These services will help passengers commute from their homes to the stations and vice versa. The options include feeder buses, cabs, auto-rickshaws, and rental two-wheelers.
Rental Bikes and Cycles for Short-Term Needs
In addition to these services, the NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) will also provide rental two-wheelers and bicycles at stations like Modinagar, Duhai, and Sahibabad. This initiative aims to assist passengers with short-term tasks around the station area.
Passengers can pay on an hourly basis and return the vehicle or bicycle at designated points at the stations before resuming their journey on the Namo Bharat trains.
Enhanced Transport System for Reduced Pollution and Accidents
NCRTC’s efforts are geared towards creating a more efficient and passenger-friendly transport system. This will not only reduce pollution but also aim to decrease the number of road accidents. The organization has sought proposals from companies to ensure these services are available at all stations along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor.
Electric Bus Services on Seven Routes
Currently, the Namo Bharat trains are operating on a 34 km section from Sahibabad to Modinagar North. For passenger convenience, NCRTC has partnered with Ghaziabad City Transport Services Limited to provide electric buses.
These buses offer last-mile connectivity on seven different routes, serving stations such as Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, DPS Rajnagar Guladhar, Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, and Modinagar North.
