Transport Minister Inaugurates New Bus Route to Improve Last Mile Connectivity in Outer Delhi

In a bid to strengthen the last mile connectivity for the people of Outer Delhi, the Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot Sunday inaugurated a new bus route connecting Bawana Chowk in northwest Delhi to Rithala Metro Station.

The new route 990C will cater to the residents living in Bawana village, Bawana industrial area, Barwala, Pooth Khurd and Prahlad Pur as well as provide access to the Rithala Metro station.

Improved Connectivity and Convenience

“The introduction of the 990C bus route signifies our commitment to provide convenient public transportation options for the citizens of Delhi. This route will not only improve connectivity, but also ease the daily commute for the residents particularly in the northwest regions of Delhi,” Gahlot said.

According to officials, currently, small buses and e-rickshaws ply between the metro station and these villages. But, the stretch never did not have a direct bus route.

Positive Response from Residents

One of the residents of Bawana village, Anjali, who studies at Aditi Mahavidyalaya said, “Earlier, there were e-rickshaws, but with buses plying till metro station will ease our commute to college and also connect us directly to our residential areas. This will help in saving money.”

Another student Rohit said, “Boarding a bus directly from home is convenient. Earlier, one had to walk long or take different transportation modes to reach the metro station.”

Route Details

The 990 C route will start from Bawana Village, Primary School and cover Aditi College, DSIDC Bawana Sec-1, Bawana Industrial Area Sec-3, Dhake Wala Maharshi Balmiki Hospital, Maharshi Balmiki Hospital, Pooth Khurd Barwala, Barwala Pathshala, Jain Colony, Prahlad Pur School, Prahlad Pur Village, Prahlad Pur Crossing, Prahlad Vihar, Rohini Sector 25, Deep Vihar, Rohini Sec 24/25 Corner, Rithala Village Crossing, Rithala Metro Station.
