In a sorrowful turn of events, Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi’s family has been struck by tragedy following a severe road accident in Jharkhand. The actor’s brother-in-law, Rakesh Tiwari, lost his life in this distressing incident, while his sister, Sarita, sustained serious injuries.

Details of the Accident

The accident occurred on the bustling Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2 in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. According to police reports, Rakesh Tiwari was driving the car—a white Maruti Swift—when he tragically lost control and collided with a road divider. The horrific crash was captured on CCTV footage, which displayed the vehicle swiftly approaching and violently striking the divider.

Immediate Aftermath and Medical Response

Local bystanders promptly responded, rushing both Rakesh and Sarita to the hospital. Tragically, Rakesh was declared deceased upon arrival. Sarita, on the other hand, suffered a fractured leg among other injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at the Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad.

A Journey Cut Short

The siblings were traveling from their village in Gopalganj, Bihar, through Jharkhand to West Bengal when the accident occurred near Nirsa Market Chowk around 4 PM on a Saturday. This tragic event marks a somber period for the family, as it follows closely after the death of Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari, who passed away in August 2023 at the age of 99 in Gopalganj.
