In a devastating road accident near JCB Chowk, Faridabad witnessed the loss of three lives and left two others in critical condition late Friday night. The collision between an MG Hector and a Maruti Ertiga occurred around 2:15 AM, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Fatal Crash During Cross-Route Movement; Flames Engulf Vehicle
According to initial police reports, the MG Hector was heading from Palwal towards Faridabad, while the Ertiga was attempting to cross from Sector 58 towards Palwal. In the ensuing collision, the Ertiga overturned and caught fire. Fortunately, emergency responders were able to extinguish the blaze before it spread, but not before the tragic loss of lives.
Of the five occupants in the Ertiga, three succumbed to their injuries on the spot. All three victims were residents of Palwal district. The MG Hector had three passengers, two of whom sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital with the help of bystanders and police officials.
Victims Battling for Life in ICU
Doctors treating the injured have confirmed that the two surviving individuals are in critical condition and are being monitored closely in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The names of the deceased have not yet been released, pending notification of their families.
Police Initiate Investigation Under Relevant Sections
Faridabad Police have registered a case under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to negligent driving and causing death by accident. A full investigation is underway, including examination of CCTV footage from nearby intersections and road-side cameras to determine the exact sequence of events and potential culpability.
