DelhiDesk Former Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, has had his judicial custody extended for 14 days by the Rouse Avenue Court in the Excise Policy case. The court has also asked the ED to provide an e-copy of the charge sheet to Sisodia. The ED is investigating the money laundering angle in the liquor scam case. The CBI had previously arrested Sisodia in the case and he has been lodged in Tihar Jail since February 23. The Delhi government’s excise policy of granting licenses to liquor traders for 2021-22 had allowed cartelization and favored some dealers who had allegedly paid bribes. After this, the policy was cancelled and a CBI inquiry was recommended by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinay Kumar Saxena. The CBI registered an FIR against 15 accused in the case for alleged violation of rules and procedural lapses in the new liquor policy.
