An IPL cricket match scheduled at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday evening is expected to significantly impact traffic in surrounding areas from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Delhi Traffic Police are advising against driving near the stadium during these hours. The match, which will run from 7 PM to 11:30 PM, features Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Titans.

Traffic Advisory

  • Affected Areas: Traffic disruptions are anticipated on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, from Delhi Gate to ITO Chowk, and Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, from Rajghat to Delhi Gate.
  • Vehicle Restrictions: Vehicle movement will be restricted, with only pedestrians allowed on certain stretches.

Metro Service Extension

In response to the IPL match and anticipated crowds, Delhi Metro has decided to extend the operational hours of trains. This extension will apply on 24th April, 7th May, and 14th May, with trains at all terminal stations running up to 35 minutes longer than usual.

Parking and Transportation

To facilitate easier access to the stadium and handle the increased volume of visitors, free Park and Ride facilities will be available at:

  • Mata Sundri Road
  • Rajghat Power House Road
  • Velodrome Road
  • Pragati Maidan Metro Station

These measures are part of a broader initiative to manage the heavy traffic expected during IPL match days and to ensure safety and convenience for all attendees.
