Mahindra, the Indian automotive brand, has recently launched the XUV400 Pro in the Indian market and has now announced plans to introduce several new electric cars. One of these upcoming models is the XUV.e8, which was recently spotted testing in India. It is believed to be an electric variant of the XUV700, serving as a testing mule for the electric version. The vehicle was seen at Mahindra’s manufacturing plant, indicating that it is in the development stage.

The XUV.e8 prototype bears a resemblance to the previously introduced XUV.e8 prototype by Mahindra, although it features new alloy wheels. The design has been modified to enhance aerodynamics, with the rear part of the SUV not visible in the teaser image. Notably, the bumper design has been completely revamped, featuring a new air dam and headlamp holes.

The XUV.e8 will be the first electric vehicle based on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform. It is expected to have dimensions of 4,740mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,760mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,762mm. The launch of the Mahindra XUV.e8 is scheduled for December 2024.

In terms of technology, the XUV.e8 will come equipped with Mahindra’s Vehicle to Load (V2L) technology. This platform supports two types of battery packs: Blade and Prismatic. The vehicle will be powered by a 60-80 kWh battery pack and will support fast charging at a rate of 175 kW. Additionally, the battery can be fast charged up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. The V2L technology will allow the XUV.e8 to charge other electric vehicles or gadgets.

In summary, Mahindra is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with the upcoming XUV.e8, which is currently in the testing phase. The vehicle will be based on the new INGLO platform and will feature a redesigned aerodynamic exterior. It will come equipped with a 60-80 kWh battery pack and support fast charging.
