Increase in Gulian Barre Syndrome Cases in Maharashtra
The number of patients suffering from Gulian Barre Syndrome (GBS) in Maharashtra is rising rapidly. Recently, 9 new GBS patients were reported in Solapur, bringing the total number of patients in the state to 117.
According to the Health Department, the current patients include 73 men and 37 women, with 17 patients requiring ventilator support. Sadly, there has been a report of the first death from GBS in Solapur. The victim was initially infected in Pune and later traveled to Solapur. In Pune, 17 GBS patients are currently on ventilators. The first case of GBS in India was identified in a hospital in Pune on January 9.
