Delhi Metro is all set to construct the longest platform on the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor of Metro Phase-IV. The platform will be constructed at the Aerocity station and will be 289 meters long, providing direct connectivity between Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) and Delhi-NCR cities such as Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, and Alwar. The special feature of the station will be the provision of three (triple) interchange facilities for the convenience of passengers.
According to Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director (Corporate Communication) of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the station will be constructed up to 23 meters deep for seamless connectivity between the Airport Express Line, Silver Line, and RRTS corridor. It will be a terminal station, making it easier for passengers to choose from one transport option to another, thereby improving connectivity and accessibility.
The completion of the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Corridor will meet the transportation needs of people living along this line, including Mehrauli, Badarpur Road, Chhatarpur Extension, and Mahipalpur. With the introduction of metro services on this corridor, passengers will save travel time and enjoy better and reliable transport facilities.
The construction of the Aerocity Metro Station has commenced, and there will be three entry and exit points at this station for the convenience of passengers. The station will also have the facility of Multimodal Integration (MMI) to facilitate passengers to change transport options. One of these entry/exit structures will connect to the business hub of Aerocity, while the remaining two will connect the Aerocity station to NH-8 and Mahipalpur pedestrian subway to nearby areas.
The Aerocity station will also facilitate interchange with the High-Speed Airport Express Line and the Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar RRTS corridor, making it a lifeline for passengers. The construction of a subway for pedestrians will make it very easy for passengers to reach the airport.
In conclusion, the construction of the longest platform on the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor of Metro Phase-IV will enhance connectivity and accessibility for the passengers. The provision of three interchange facilities, along with the Multimodal Integration (MMI) facility, will make it easier for passengers to switch between transport options. The construction of the Aerocity Metro Station will also facilitate interchange with the High-Speed Airport Express Line and the Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar RRTS corridor, making travel more convenient and accessible for passengers.
