As expected, KL Rahul has been named in the squad for the World Cup. However, Sanju Samson did not make the cut.

Hardik Pandya named vice-captain

Hardik Pandya has been appointed as the vice-captain of the squad, with Rohit Sharma leading the team.

KL Rahul cleared for fitness

KL Rahul has received a clearance certificate on his fitness from the NCA and will join the team in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup.

Ishan Kishan included as second wicketkeeper

Ishan Kishan has been included in the squad as the second wicketkeeper. His impressive performance against Pakistan sealed his place in the team.

Shardul Thakur adds batting depth
