Yadav Can Continue Acting and Performing, but with Restrictions
What Happened?
A division bench of Justices Manmohan and Saurabh Banerjee has ruled that Bhojpuri actor-singer Khesari Lal Yadav can continue to act, sing, and dance in the Bhojpuri film industry and on national TV channels, social media platforms, and stages. However, the court has imposed certain restrictions on him.
Restrictions Imposed
The court clarified that Yadav cannot sell his new songs to distributors, music companies, producers, or any third person other than Global Music Junction, unless the music production company refuses to accept the delivery of the new songs. This ruling is in accordance with the court’s judgment on September 5.
The Court’s Statement
The court stated, “This Court injuncts the Respondent No.1/ Defendant No.6 (Yadav) from engaging with any third person including Respondents No.2 to 5 and/ or Appellant/ Plaintiff’s (Global Music Junction) competitor for monetising of any new song till 30th September, 2025, except when the Appellant/ Plaintiff refuses to accept delivery of the said song subject to the Appellant/ Plaintiff proving its bona fides by depositing the balance fee (ie ₹2.20 crores) with the Registry of this Court.”
