NEW DELHI: Days after Israel criticised Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg over what it said was an ‘anti-Israel’ post on X (formerly Twitter), Israel’s education ministry has said it will remove any reference to Thunberg in its school curriculum.

★The education ministry stated that Thunberg’s stance disqualifies her from being an educational and moral role model for Israeli students.

★The ministry believes that Thunberg’s dismissal of a different topic weakens the validity of her climate-related positions.

★Pro-Israel activists also released an open letter to Thunberg, expressing their disappointment with her tweets and posts regarding Gaza.

★The letter urged Thunberg to reconsider and educate herself about the atrocities conducted by Hamas.

★The education ministry emphasized that there are plenty of other figures for Israeli students to look up to in the context of climate change.
