Share Market Shows Positive Trend Due to Relief from Inflation and Positive US Markets

The Indian share markets saw a widespread surge on Tuesday, June 13, due to relief from inflation and positive trends in the US markets. The Sensex rose by 418 points, while the Nifty crossed the 18,700 mark. All sector indices closed in the green. The realty, consumer durables, and telecom sectors saw the most significant growth in their shares. The metal and pharma indices also closed more than 1% higher. The broader market also showed a positive trend. The BSE midcap and small cap indices closed with gains of 1.17% and 0.82% respectively. As a result, the wealth of share market investors increased by approximately INR 2.07 lakh crore.

Market Capitalization of Listed Companies on BSE Increases

The total market capitalization of listed companies on the BSE increased to INR 289.99 lakh crore on June 13, up from INR 287.92 lakh crore on June 12. Thus, the market cap of companies listed on the BSE increased by INR 2.15 lakh crore. This represents an increase in the wealth of investors.

Top 5 Shares Show Biggest Gains in Sensex

Out of the 30 shares in the Sensex, 19 shares closed with gains. ITC shares saw the most significant gain of 1.92%. Titan, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, and Tata Steel also saw significant gains and closed between 1.37% to 1.85% higher.

Top 5 Shares Show Biggest Losses in Sensex

Out of the remaining 11 shares in the Sensex, 11 shares closed with losses. Kotak Mahindra Bank saw the most significant loss of 1.25%. HCL Tech, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, and State Bank of India also saw significant losses and closed between 0.33% to 0.70% lower.

Number of Shares with Gains Higher Than Losses on BSE

Out of the 3,722 shares traded on the BSE on June 13, 2,127 shares closed with gains, while 1,458 shares closed with losses. 137 shares closed without any significant change.
